Oswald West State Park, Oregon
I have fond memories of visiting Oswald West every summer growing up. After the 1.2 mile hike through the old-growth forest (which is studied by University students), you arrive at one of the most secluded beaches in Oregon. Oswald West feels both romantic and rugged, and the people-watching never gets old. It’s also one of the best surfing spots in the state. I like to plan ahead for low tide—when adventurous beach combing becomes possible in the tide pools along the giant, stony cliffs.
