Giza Necropolis, Egypt
When Herodotus visited Giza in 450 BC, he was told by Egyptian priests that "the Great Pyramid had taken 400,000 men 20 years to build, working in three-month shifts 100,000 men at a time." (Text from Wikipedia)
In my creation of the Giza Necropolis, I sought to bridge the ancient and the contemporary, bringing forth the timeless allure of the pyramids and their eternal watch over the landscape. Using a color palette inspired by the desert’s myriad shades, I wanted to highlight the contrast of the grandiose monuments against the dense urban metropolis for a balanced composition.
