Summer 2023 Recap: Seattle Art Shows!

Summer of 2023 was packed with TONS of fun. In June I went to Seattle and was hosted by my lovely friend Denise! First, I was invited to display my work for Belltown Art Walk at Design Within Reach. It was so much fun hanging my work, and we managed to get it all up so quickly!

I loved chatting with the people who stopped by for Belltown Art Walk, but the highlight was the following night. Denise also hosted a very special private art party for me, letting me adorn her home with many of my original abstract pieces!

Check out the amazing SPREAD! Denise hired a super talented caterer for my little art show and it made me feel so special. Everything was divine. This was one of those events you DID NOT WANT TO MISS THE SNACKS!!!

I scanned lots of new original abstract pieces prior to setting up the display at Denise's house. From those high-res scans I was able to create larger prints of my work—that amazingly have just as much clarity as the originals.

My pieces are small because that's the size I enjoy working at with this kind of detail, but to see pieces blown up to twice the original size and displayed in a nice house was a whole new experience for me. I realized that this technique works pretty well since most of my abstract pieces are done on paper. In the above image, the two pieces on the left are originals, and the piece on the right is an enlarged print (which sold!).

This experience was a blast and definitely the biggest highlight of 2023 for me. I'm so grateful for such a unique opportunity to interact with new folks who really appreciate my art. It was fun sharing concepts behind the pieces, answering questions and talking about my process. I've also never sold more pieces in one night! It felt like a private solo exhibition—I owe a HUGE thank you to my friends Denise and Gary and to many new collectors in Seattle! THANK YOU!!
