A new chapter of my life has begun, I met my love Samuel in October 2025 and we married faster than anyone could have saw coming. Now we're both traveling between Oregon, Texas, and New Jersey for the next three years as he finishes his PhD research in Ocean Engineering at Stevens Institute in Hoboken. That being said, my art studio is currently spread across three states as I type this! Nonetheless, my art business has steadily picked up over the course of the last few months. I have managed to produce three paintings this year and anticipate a new commission (so exciting!), and have lots of projects in the works. Time flies! I'm still looking forward to the day I can dedicate 100% of my time to my art business, but until then, I just keep on hustlin'!
I'm so excited about this piece! Machu Picchu, Peru (I always forget how to spell it). This piece really made me realize how special my paintings are. I may already be my own biggest fan, but these brushstrokes are just insane. I really couldn't teach you how to do this. My process is intuitive, and I make multiple decisions in mere split seconds to land on the "right" arrangement of brushstrokes. In the same way that a writer aims to communicate in as few words as possible, I try to paint in as few strokes as possible (or at least make it look like a few strokes). This is a delicate process. I do hope that others can see and appreciate the details. Sarah Manguso said in her 300 Arguments that "Details aren't automatically interesting" and I agree. I'm trying to hit that sweet spot where the larger composition is pleasing, and when you zoom in, there's even more to delight in.

Lately I've been playing with warm and cool tones, and pushing the colors beyond what is there to an even more creative, idealized, fantastical, and saturated rendition.
Onto the next one!
